The plan came to light and will connect Los Angeles on the west coast of the United States and Hong Kong, China through ultra-high-speed submarine cables, spanning 12,800 kilometers. The operations of the two companies in mainland China were not approved, so they went through Hong Kong, a special administrative region, and became a network connection point in Asia.
Both companies deal with endless amounts of data every day. Rather than relying on communication companies, IT companies are more inclined to build their own infrastructure to transmit information to the world. And this trend is increasing day by day.
Facebook has now collaborated with Microsoft in the United States to initially lay large submarine cables in the Atlantic Ocean. The latest creation is the sixth submarine cable project that Google has participated in.
Google claims that the submarine cable laid this time connects the US mainland and Asia, and has a larger communication capacity than other cables. With high definition, it has the capacity to hold 80 million video conferences together with the mainland.
Facebook, Google and Hong Kong Pacific Light Data communication company will collaborate to complete the construction of the submarine cable. The person in charge of the Hong Kong company said that he was very lucky to be able to cooperate with a world-renowned technology company and participate in the laying of the submarine cable.
