The number of users in Asia has exploded, and Google officially launches Zhujiang Cable, with a maximum network speed of 26TB per second
Following Google's establishment of new data centers in Singapore and Taiwan last year, Google is accelerating the expansion of Internet services in Asia. The company recently announced that a new submarine cable in Asia has been launched, and the speed of services such as Youtube and the Google cloud computing platform will be further improved.
The new cable was connected from Google's Taiwan branch to somewhere in Japan, and then the original cable was connected from Japan to the United States. FASTER Consortium is the manufacturer of Google's submarine cables. The submarine cables produced by the former have always been known as the fastest in the world.
Google claims that the newly built cable between Japan and Taiwan supports a maximum speed of 26TB per second.
Due to the recent emergence of a large number of new users in Asia, Google is particularly concerned about accelerating the speed of data networks in Asia. In a recent report jointly written by Google and the Singapore government Temasek Fund, Google claimed that only Southeast Asia would add 3.8 million new users every month.
"The new cable will greatly speed up the loading speed of Google's products and services in Asia. At the same time, stability and security will also be improved, because the new cable bypasses the tsunami area and avoids the impact of natural disasters on the network." Google Wrote in the blog.
Google announced last year that the company spent $1 billion to build two data centers in Asia. Judging from this trend, Google will have more investments in Asia in the future.
The statement also read: "On a global scale, Asia has the largest number of new users every day. We have been investing heavily in facilities in the region to ensure that all users in the region can use the network."
